A Summer Venue/Medical Camp in Kashmir
Located in the Himalayan mountains in the northernmost part of India, Kashmir is indeed a region of extraordinary natural beauty and climate. But due to political violence and terrorism, Kashmir is now a home to thousands of orphans, who continue to be vulnerable to worst forms of violence, particularly the young girls. There are over 100,000 orphans in Kashmir since the separatist conflicts began.
We are inviting people including medical doctors, health professionals and volunteers to participate in the venue / medical camp "International Rescue Initiative Program" (IRIP), to rescue young girls (1-15 years old), orphaned or suffering from mental trauma or history of abuse (physical/mental) in terrorist affected locations in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The goal of this initiative is to work out strategic workforce to rescue these girls, who unlike boys are massively rejected by their relatives, and give them a safe and secure environment where they can re-discover their identity and self-esteem. Unlike other rehabilitation programs, our motivation is not only to provide them with medical care but also give them a family where they can build their own lives with dignity and love.
